These 8 familiar faces all have a criminal past

For many movie stars, singers or singers, life often consists only of sex, drugs and rock & roll. Some of those familiar faces paid for their deeds with an interrogation at the police station or worse.

Many assume that famous stars stay out of the hands of the dish. But that does not apply to everyone. We found out for you which familiar faces already came into contact with the dish.

1. Mark Wahlberg

Mark Wahlberg, nicknamed Marky Mark, is an American film actor, singer and film producer. You probably know him from the comedy movies Ted and Ted 2 where Wahlberg the inseparable buddy is from his talking teddy bear. In 2007, he was nominated for a Golden Globe for his role in The Departed.

He grew up in one of the toughest neighborhoods in Boston and didn’t finish high school (he didn’t graduate from high school until June 2013). That is how the actor got into crime. At the age of 16, Wahlberg attacked two Vietnamese men on the street. One of the men is permanently blind in one eye because of the attack. Marky Mark was sentenced to 90 days in prison for attempted murder. In the end, Wahlberg was only detained for 45 days.

2. R. Kelly

We know Robert Sylvester Kelly under his stage name R. Kelly. Certainly his number I Believe I Can Fly must ring a bell.

But R. Kelly often made negative headlines because of his sexual relationships with underage girls. For example, he briefly married in 1994 the then fifteen-year-old singer Aaliyah (who died in a plane crash in 2001). In recent years, various charges have been filed against the artist for child abuse and child pornography. For example, in Chicago in 2008, he was found guilty of sex acts with the 14-year-old daughter of a business partner. In 2003, he was charged with twelve cases of child pornography. The complaints were then declared unfounded due to insufficient evidence.

In 2019, the state of Georgia will open an investigation into the documentary Surviving R. Kelly, in which several women accuse the singer of sexual abuse and sex with minors. There is said to be a “woman’s sect” in his house where women were held and brainwashed. R. Kelly denies all this.

3. Robert Downey Jr.

Robert Downey Jr. is an American film and television actor. In 1993, he was nominated for an Oscar for his lead role in Chaplin. But in addition to his appearance on movie screens in cinemas, his name often appeared in the newspapers in a bad way.

In 1996 Downey Jr. arrested for possession of cocaine, heroin and an unloaded weapon. Less than two weeks later, the police arrested him again because he had entered his neighbors’ house under the influence of drugs. After the movie star also broke his parole, Robert Downey Jr. to prison where he spent a total of one year and three months.

After his prison sentence, Downey Jr. committed to getting treatment for his drug addiction. Then he got a new role on the television series Ally McBeal. The ratings were high and critics were full of praise. This eventually even earned the actor a Golden Globe. A few months before the presentation, Robert Downey Jr. however, came into contact with the police again for possession of drugs and weapons. Between 1996 and 2001, the actor spent a total of eighteen months in prison.

Winona Ryder

Winona Ryder is an actress best known for her role on the Netflix series Stranger Things. The ex-girlfriend of Johnny Depp and Matt Damon, among others, won a Golden Globe in 1994 for best supporting actress in the film The Age of Innocence. She was also twice nominated for an Oscar.

Ryder was arrested in December 2001 for clothing theft at a Beverly Hills clothing store. The actress had stolen more than $ 20,000 (or almost 18,500 euros). She was given a suspended sentence of 480 hours for three years and had to pay back the stolen clothes in full. That film stars earn well, is evident in this case. The bail for Winona Ryder was $ 20,000 and she paid it herself, freeing her the same night of her conviction.

Lil ‘Kim

Kimberly Denise Jones, aka Lil ‘Kim, is an American hip-hop singer, actress, and model. As an artist, she has won many awards, including a Grammy Award. The singer had an eventful life where she first stayed with her father for a short time. After being evicted from the house, she alternately lived with friends and later even on the street. There she learned the rap techniques. She was even noticed by The Notorious B.I.G., with whom she had a long-standing secret relationship.

In 2005, Lil ‘Kim was convicted of lying under oath about the presence of two friends in a shooting incident in 2001. The rap star eventually had to grumble for 10 months. Normally she had to sit for 366 days, but due to good behavior she was allowed to leave prison earlier. During her exam period, Lil ‘Kim wrote more than 200 songs. When she finally got out, she released her album The Naked Truth from.

Lindsay Lohan, nicknamed LiLo, is an American actress, singer and model. She started her career at the age of three. She has starred in over 60 commercials and has appeared in several series as a child actor.

The more famous she became, the more she appeared at exclusive parties. Stories circulated that Lohan was on drugs. On the set of Herbie: Fully Loaded LiLo collapsed completely due to exhaustion. In 2005, she made the news through several car incidents involving the paparazzi. And the complaints piled up: in 2007, she was charged with stealing thousands of dollars worth of fashion model clothes.

Things really went wrong in 2006. She becomes involved in an accident where the Beverly Hills police arrested her for drunk driving. After having been caught on drug possession a few times in the past, a quantity of cocaine was again found in her car.

Chris Brown

Christopher Maurice Brown, better known as Chris Brown, is a successful American R&B singer. He has had a relationship with singer Rihanna.

It is in that relationship that Brown showed his worst side. In February 2009, the rapper reported after hitting Rihanna and inflicting injuries a few days earlier. He immediately paid the bail so he did not have to go to prison. The Los Angeles judge ruled that Brown should complete 1,400 hours (or six months) with activities such as washing cars and removing graffiti. For the next five years, the judge banned him from contacting Rihanna and was forced to take a course on domestic violence.

Brown made a deal with justice. In exchange for his confession, the prosecution dropped a second charge of threats. In 2014, he nevertheless ended up in prison for violating the conditions after his probation.

8. Mike Tyson

Mike Tyson or Iron Mike was an American boxer. He became the heavyweight world champion three times and at the age of twenty he became the youngest champion ever. He was known as a ruthless boxer and his explosive nature has brought him into contact with justice several times.

In 1991, Tyson is arrested and sentenced to six years’ imprisonment for the rape of an 18-year-old girl. Tyson called the girl at night, got her picked up by his limousine and brought her to his hotel room where he had sex with her. According to the judge, there was physical resistance, so there was rape. Tyson has always denied the facts. During the lawsuit, the driver of Tyson’s limousine and the doctor investigating the report stated that a rape was likely. Mike Tyson was convicted. He was in prison for three out of six years. During that period he converted to Islam.

But it didn’t stop there. After his comeback in 1997 he made the world press because he bit a bit from the ear of opponent Evander Holyfield during a game. In addition, he tested positive for cannabis use after a competition in 2000. He then appeared in court and was fined and suspended for 90 days.
