Now the Kemptners have the second “Signature Edition” model at the start, the Abt RSQ8. Based on the founding year 1896, 96 copies are planned. A maximum of eight RSQ8 Signature Editions should be handcrafted per month.
The 600 hp in the Audi RS Q8 just aren’t enough? Then we have exactly the right thing – Audi specialist Abt Sportsline is presenting its latest project based on the already brutal RS Q8. After 700 hp in the RSQ8-S and 740 hp in the RSQ8-R, of which only 125 were built, the tuner ignites the next level of performance. The 800 hp Abt RSQ8 Signature Edition will only be built 96 times!
In 2021, Abt Sportsline celebrated its 125th company anniversary. Reason enough to present not only the limited RSQ8-R, but also the most exclusive model in the company’s history, the Abt RS6 Johann Abt Signature Edition, of which only 64 were built.
Let’s start with the optics: Since the Audi RS Q8 is anything but inconspicuous ex works and Abt Sportsline has done a good job with its conversions to the RSQ8-S and RSQ8-R, the tuner had to come up with something for the new special model.
In addition to a four-pipe exhaust system and special 23-inch rims with “Signature Edition” lettering, the body kit (consisting of front lip, front blades, radiator grille attachment, fender flares, side skirts, mirror caps, rear apron attachment, diffuser, roof edge spoiler and more) is made of a special coarser carbon fiber structure (“Signature Carbon Bold”) is the optical highlight of the special model.
V8 biturbo with 800 hp and 1000 Nm
Things get particularly interesting under the hood of the SUV: the mechanics squeeze 800 hp and 1000 Nm from the four-liter V8 biturbo, which corresponds to an increase of 200 hp and 200 Nm compared to the production version. The additional performance is achieved, among other things, by special intercoolers, larger turbochargers and adapted software.
The thick ship sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds – and thus another 0.6 seconds faster than a normal RS Q8. Abt Sportsline specifies the top speed as 315 km/h. The tuned RS Q8 even trumps the Aston Martin DBX707, which reaches 310 km/h.
But that’s not all. Inside there is a noble mix of Alcantara, leather and the carbon that is familiar from the exterior. The seats bear not only Abt but also RSQ8 Signature Edition lettering; and so that the driver does not forget that he is sitting in a very special Q8 limited to just 96 units, there is a numbered plaque.
The complete vehicle costs 316,480 euros
So much exclusivity has its price! The conversion package, including installation and TÜV, costs a whopping 129,900 euros – without a base. Abt Sportsline charges 316,480 euros for the complete vehicle. That’s more than a Lamborghini Urus, a Bentley Bentayga or even an Aston Martin DBX707 – but they don’t have 800 hp!
