Thunderstorms, hail & tornadoes are approaching: This is how you can see if you are threatened
The German weather service DWD warns of a massive thunderstorm front moving over Germany. There is even a risk of severe weather for several days. The DWD expects thunderstorms, hail and storms for the next few days. Even tornadoes, i.e. hurricanes, are possible. Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia are particularly at risk.
You can see the current threat immediately
On this website of the DWD you can see the weather situation for the whole of Germany at a glance. The areas that are particularly at risk from storms are highlighted in colour. You can see the orange colored bar that runs across central Germany. The north with, for example, Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg and Bremen as well as Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and the south with the Allgäu, Upper and Lower Bavaria are apparently not threatened.
Tip: Click on the region that interests you on the map with the mouse pointer. Alternatively, enter the desired place name in the search field above. You will then immediately see the current situation.
You can read the DWD’s current warning situation report here. A current excerpt from it: “From the midday hours on NRW and Rhineland-Palatinate, severe thunderstorms with increased DANGER OF SEVERE WEATHER!
