Tiktok reportedly wants to add games to its app. A corresponding test run has now been started in Vietnam.
Tiktok could be expanded to include games.
As the Reuters news agency reports, TikTok wants to make a foray into the gaming sector and add games to its app. According to Reuters, a test run was recently started in Vietnam.
Tiktok is testing HTML5 minigames
A Tiktok spokesman confirmed that the company is testing several HTML5 mini-games. Tiktok could use the advertising-financed games of the parent company Bytedance. The aim of the games at Tiktok is to increase the time users spend on the platform. Tiktok made its first gaming attempts last year. The platform, together with Feeding America, published the “Farmville” clone “Garden of Good” in which players could collect points and use them for donations. Tiktok is also working with Zynga on the endless game Disco Loco 3D.
The competition never sleeps
Competitor Facebook and the Chinese Tiktok predecessor Douyin also rely on games. The streaming service Netflix is also making attempts in the gaming direction. With its Live Studio for PCs, Tiktok recently tested its own streaming software for games. Selected authors were given the opportunity to integrate mini apps into their videos. It remains to be seen what concrete gaming plans Tiktok has for the future.

PC-WELT is now also on Tiktok.
