For 89.99 euros or 80 euros, the moto e20 is an inexpensive Android entry-level smartphone, ideal for children or as a second cell phone.

Technical specifications

The moto e20 (75.53 x 164.83 x 8.48 mm and weighs approx. 185 grams) has a 6.5-inch touchscreen and a resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels. So not full HD! An eight-core processor drives the smartphone; he can access 2 GB of RAM. For photos, the phone has dual cameras: a 13 MP main camera and a 2 MP depth camera; the front camera takes pictures with 5 MP. The internal memory is 32 GB and can be expanded using a microSD card via the dual nano SIM slot.

The connections are USB Type-C and a 3.5 mm jack. Bluetooth 5.0 is supported. The scope of delivery includes a charger, USB Type-C charging cable and a quick start guide. The battery is permanently installed.

This smartphone is also available on Amazon, but it costs almost 120 euros there – so stay away. The user comments on Amazon are mostly positive. The users praise the solid display and the good haptics as well as the low weight. The 4,000 mAh battery seems to be quite enduring. The camera, on the other hand, seems to be a weak point.

Android 11 Go is used as the operating system. This is an Android version specially optimized for weaker devices. Among other things, some particularly resource-hungry Android apps are being replaced by special Android Go alternatives. That’s the case with Google Search and the Photos app, for example.
