Aldi sells a gaming monitor from HP for just 159 euros. But what good is the screen – and is the price cheap?
the gaming monitor HP X24ih costs just under 200 euros, at Aldi you can get the 144 Hertz fast full HD display for only 159 euros. Sales start on April 13, 2022 at 7:00 a.m. in the joint online shop of Aldi Süd & Nord – including free shipping and returns.
The HP X24ih offers a screen diagonal of 23.8 inches (60.5 cm) with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The refresh rate is 144 Hertz and can be synchronized with Radeon graphics cards using AMD FreeSync Premium technology. According to the manufacturer, the IPS panel has a response time of 1 ms.
In contrast to typical gaming monitors, the HP X24ih comes with a simple black stand and also does without RGB lighting. The 1080p screen can be adjusted in height, rotated and tilted so that you can ergonomically adjust it to the optimal viewing position.
In terms of connections, the HP X24ih offers 1x HDMI 2.0 and 1x DisplayPort 1.2 as well as a headphone output. The narrow side frame allows an immersive multi-monitor setup. The matte display also features a blue light filter. The only drawback is the comparatively high power consumption of around 40 watts.
For 159 euros, the HP X24ih from Aldi is an affordable offer for all owners of a Radeon graphics card from AMD who are still playing with a 60 Hertz monitor and finally want to upgrade at a reasonable price.
