“Over the past eleven years, promises have been made to protect and portray my story with the authenticity and honesty I gave,” writes 43-year-old Tamar, who has appeared in Braxton Family Values and Tamar & Vince, among others. “I was betrayed, abused, overworked and underpaid.”
Things got worse with the singer, known from the R&B group The Braxtons. “I witnessed the slow death of the woman I had become, so I lost the motivation to fight. I felt like I was no longer alive. I existed for company sales and ratings and I broke down.”
Tamar promises to work for other black reality stars who are “exploited” by the genre. She is now going to focus on finding her happiness and her 7-year-old son Logan. “Through professional help for my heart Logan, which I forgot in my moment of distress and despair.”
The reality star was found unconscious in a hotel room by her boyfriend earlier this month. Tamar is said to have overdosed on pills.
