Bayer Leverkusen coach Peter Bosz was happy that his players showed their best side again with the victory over sc Freiburg (0-1). “That was important to us after the bad game against VfL Wolfsburg,” he said.
“We did well in the first half, we let the ball go around well. And then you have to be patient, be patient that the openings will arise,” Bosz said. “After we got the lead, it got tricky. But in the end we defended as guys and dragged out the victory that way. I’m very happy with that.”
Leverkusen took the lead at the beginning of the second half by a goal from Kai Havertz. The talented player got injured after more than an hour in a game and was taken to the side.
According to the trainer, Havertz does not have to worry about a longer absence with his slight knee injury. “He is doing well,” Bosz assured. “I don’t know exactly how bad it is, but it will be all right.”
