Sportage, Qashqai or Tiguan: buyers should be careful with these used SUVs! Here come the giants of defects of all ages!

D.German drivers love SUVs. Anyone looking for a used copy now has a very large selection. But not every sports utility vehicle can be recommended as a used car. There are models that, from a certain age, often come off badly above average at TÜV. With these vehicles, you should be particularly careful when buying from a previous owner!

The older, the more vulnerable

One that only becomes susceptible in old age is the Nissan Qashqai. The Japanese best seller is considered one of the founding fathers of the compact SUVs and offers easy entry, a high seating position and a relaxed design at a fair price. The second generation has been available since 2014 and looks much more modern and chic than its predecessor. For a well received Qashqai of the second generation (type J11) you should have a budget of at least 10,000 euros.

Weak brake discs, oil leaks, susceptible lighting as well as axle suspension and steering are purchasing risks.

First cheap, then expensive long-term consequences

In addition to the vulnerable technology, many owners also lack care. The supposed bargain can quickly turn into an expensive vehicle. Because of the relative stability of value and the manufacturer’s guarantee, we recommend the Duster rather than new cars.
