A free graphics demo shows how impressively real a forest designed with Unreal Engine 5 can look.
The graphic demo of MAWI United can be executed with three different seasons.
The Unreal Engine 5 is supposed to take upcoming games to a new graphic level. Textures should look lifelike from any distance, plus ray-traced lighting and load times in seconds. However, it could still be many months or years before the released games based on the Unreal Engine 5 actually cause open mouths. Until then, owners of a powerful graphics card can take a look at the photorealistic possibilities of Unreal Engine 5 with the appropriate demos.
Three videos of the same forest
German asset provider MAWI United recently released a graphics demo that is free to download and try. The demo shows a coniferous forest rendered with Unreal Engine 5. With its demo, MAWI United wants to win new customers who want to integrate exactly such a forest into their game. If you don’t want to waste any time, you can watch the graphic demo immediately using three videos. It shows the same forest in different versions: in summer , in autumn and in winter . All three scenarios impress with their photorealistic representation and give hope for corresponding games.
Install it yourself on the PC
If you have a fast gaming computer, you can download the graphics demo for free and try it out on your PC. However, it should be borne in mind that at least one Geforce GTX 1080 should be installed. The demo runs in HD resolution at 30 frames per second. For a smooth 60 frames per second, it has to be a Geforce RTX 2070. If you want to let the forest run across the screen in 4K resolution, you even need a Geforce RTX 3080. Unfortunately, interaction with the forest is not possible. The graphics demo serves more as a stress test for the built-in graphics card.
