Disney has presented its quarterly figures: The streaming service gained 14.4 million customers worldwide and had 152.1 million paying customers on July 2, 2022. But the announcements about how the streaming offer will continue are much more interesting.
US: Disney+ Basic and price increase
Because Disney will start the new Disney + Basic offer in the USA on December 8, 2022. This is a streaming offer with advertising. Four minutes of advertising should be shown to viewers per hour of viewing time. Disney had previously announced in May 2022 that advertising content would be controlled and would not be allowed to promote alcohol or politics. But Disney+ Basic is by no means free or only financed by advertising, but there is also advertising on top.
Disney+ Basic should cost the same as Disney+ before, i.e. $7.99. The price for the previous Disney + offer without advertising will increase from $7.99 to $10.99 per month or $109.99 per year.
