Vacuums on demand: the Deebot T10 vacuum robot series offers voice control and AI

If you keep your home clean with a vacuum robot from the new Deebot T10 product range, operation by voice command is often the fastest and most convenient operating method: Do you see a dirty spot in the hallway that needs to be cleaned? As the owner of a Deebot T10 series model, you simply give the command “OK Yiko, come and clean the hallway” and the device will leave its docking station and carry out the command.

The reliability of this voice control is one of the strengths of the new Deebot T10 series vacuum cleaner robots, which are available in three versions. They can be operated via a convenient app from Ecovacs, but obey the word if necessary.

New object detection and avoidance

A vacuum cleaner robot from the Deebot T10 product range not only needs a first-class cleaning function, “inner values” such as intelligent voice recognition and reliable navigation make the big difference for the smart home. The necessary computing power is provided by the chip Sunrise 3 from Horizon Robotics – a very powerful AI chip that makes the devices a big step “smarter”. It is 16 times more powerful than its predecessor’s chip and guarantees that your Deebot will find its way around your home, recognize objects and understand your commands.

So that it can reliably clean the apartment, the Deebot first uses its so-called DtoF sensor to create an exact 2D map that records all rooms. In addition, the device can create a 3D map via its camera. Thanks to AIVI 3.0 technology, it automatically recognizes up to eighteen objects such as chairs, doors, sofas or even people. He is constantly learning and registering new objects such as socks, shoes or cables. Thanks to this 3D view, you can adjust the cleaning runs yourself and start specific cleanings if necessary – for example to vacuum a spot under the coffee table.

However, the powerful camera will not disturb your privacy! When the device activates the camera, this is signaled by a voice message and a small signal lamp next to the camera module. Ecovacs has had data protection and data security certified by TÜV Rheinland.

Language assistant with AI

The most convenient and popular method of operating smart home devices from the sofa is by voice – without first having to reach for a smartphone or notebook. The language assistant Yiko is responsible for this at Deebot, which you can call up with the formula “OK Yiko”. In addition to many other languages, she speaks German and, thanks to complex voice recognition, understands even more complicated commands in natural language – the voice command is converted into text and the intention is understood via semantic understanding. A positive side effect of the integrated microphones: With their help, the Deebot also recognizes the location of a speaker and can navigate directly to him.

Improved mop and suction functions

A new low-wear brushless motor is used in the devices of the T10 series, which offers a so-called worm fan and glass fiber reinforced fan blades. This makes the T10 models very powerful when vacuuming. A high suction power of up to 3000 Pa is available, which the Deebot independently adapts to the surface. It automatically recognizes carpeting and adjusts the suction power accordingly. At Ecovacs, the significantly more expensive Deebot X1, which reaches up to 5000 Pa, offers even higher suction power. An air filter is also integrated, the washable filter cartridge filters out 99 percent of the micro dust and allergens sucked in.

However, there are differences between the two product variants T10 Turbo and T10 Plus in the method used to wipe with a damp cloth: The Turbo is aimed at customers who place particular value on a good mop function – for example because they want to keep a floorboard clean . This is where the Ozmo Turbo 2.0 Rotating Mopping System comes into play. It consists of two circular rotating textile brushes that work like a mop and are moistened via an integrated water tank. Up to 180 revolutions per minute and a compressive force of up to 6N guarantee that the turbo can cope with stubborn dirt.

However, the T10 Plus also offers a mop function, the Ozmo Pro 3.0 Oscillation Mopping System. Here the device does not need a water tank and cleans surfaces with a vibrating pad. This achieves up to 600 vibrations per minute and removes dirt in three different degrees of intensity. In addition, the Plus model offers a capsule-based air freshener, and you can choose from three different fragrances.

Docking stations for Turbo and Plus

The three models of the T10 series, the T10 Turbo, T10 Plus and T10 differ both in terms of different cleaning techniques and the docking station. The T10 Turbo’s large docking station, which is coordinated with its rotating brushes, is particularly feature-rich. Not only can this station empty the dust reservoir of the Deebot, it also automatically refills the water tank required for the wiping function. The station also cleans and dries the two textile pads of the Turbo, which serve as a mop.

The docking station of the model Plus offers a powerful suction function to completely clean the Deebot. The docking station can collect up to 60 days of dust and saves you having to empty it by hand. The third version, the T10 (without Turbo and Plus) corresponds to the Plus model, but is delivered without a docking station.

The docking station offers additional functions: They charge the battery of the Deebot automatically and any firmware updates are also possible via the station connected via WLAN. Reassuring for parents: the station has a child lock to prevent unwanted operation by children.
