What is certain, however, is that the cargo version of the ID.Buzz will be available in a long version from 2023 – so the Hanover-based company will soon be adding the first version. The commercial vehicle variant of the Buzz seems to arouse particular interest: half of all ID.Buzz orders to date have been for the “Cargo” transporter with a sliding door.

Doka has a long tradition

But back to the double cabin: The ID.Buzz appeared for the first time with the so-called “Doka” (abbreviation for double cabin) in the form of a design drawing by VW in April 2022. The special feature: the four-door ID.Buzz corresponds to the normal car version up to just before the rear axle. The structure ends behind the second row of seats.

Two rows of seats and a loading area. This is the double cab (or “DoKa”) – here as a VW T3.

The rear part of the Buzz forms a loading area with an external step in front of the front axle. Starting with the T1, this body configuration has a long tradition at VW. If that’s not hopeful.
