New to Whatsapp is the simple possibility of simply deleting attachments and thus ensuring free memory.
Whatsapp: manage files and attachments more easily
If you regularly receive pictures or films from friends and acquaintances via Whatsapp, you can watch how the storage space on your smartphone is getting full. Both are directly related to each other. In the Whatsapp settings under “Storage and data” you can see directly how large the sum of the attachments has become in your various conversations.
New to Whatsapp is the easy way to simply delete them. Messenger offers you three options for classifying files: In the first two sections you will find frequently forwarded data and files that are larger than five MB. If you call up the respective overview, you will see a list of the files. Select the ones you no longer need and delete them.
Whatsapp now offers a sortable list of all files that you have saved on your smartphone.
Alternatively, Whatsapp offers the option to delete files from certain chats. In the third overview you can see all of your chats with an indication of how big they are. You can then select the files from these, sorted by size or creation date, and remove them from your smartphone. In this way you can quickly free up space on your smartphone if necessary.
