Who Pirates of the Caribbean says Captain Jack Sparrow. The character has been a fixture on the Disney franchise for five films, but it could well be that. Producer Jerry Buckheimer said that it is not yet at all sure how important the role of Johnny Depp will be in the sixth Pirates-movie.
The sixth Pirates of the Caribbeanmovie was announced a few years ago, but it doesn’t look like we’ll be able to watch it anytime soon. It’s not even clear to the producer of the series, Jerry Bruckheimer, how important the role of Johnny Depp will be in the movie.
Draft version of the script
Pirates of the Caribbean 6 is currently “under development” at Disney. But that development is not that far yet. The script is even a rough draft, which Disney has not yet seen. That’s not really such a surprise.
Because then the sixth Piratesmovie was announced in 2018, it was Deadpool-writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese who would support the script. But that duo left a year later, so had to be replaced.
That replacement was not the least. Ted Eliott wrote the script for the first one Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. He teams up with Craig Mazin, who wrote the script for Chernobyl has written.
Since there is no official script yet, it is also impossible to name the different roles in the film. And also the face of the Piratesmovies, Johnny Depp, is not a certainty.
“We are not quite sure what Johnny’s role will be,” said producer Jerry Bruckheimer (who is also behind the fourth Bad Boysmovie is sitting!) during an interview with entertainment website Collider. “We will see.”
Bruckheimer would like to join Johnny Depp, although Disney already made it clear in 2018 that the studio thinks otherwise. After the fifth Pirates of the Caribbeanfilm, the actor was the subject of various controversies and scandals.
It remains to be seen whether Johnny Depp will take on the role of eccentric Captain Jack Sparrow for the sixth time.
