Under Windows 10, one of the following solutions is usually sufficient to get the functions working again: Restart your computer. Run a virus scan. Test copy and paste in another application. If copying should work in other programs, it is advisable to quit and restart the affected software or, in the worst case, to uninstall and reload it.
If the “Copy & Paste” function still does not work for you after all of the above steps, please try the following suggested solutions:
System errors can cause copy and paste to not work. However, updating Windows 10 may help: Click on the start symbol and select “Settings” (the gear). Under “Update and Security” select the “Check for Updates” button. Windows will immediately check for available updates, download and install them. The process may be completed with a restart of the computer.

The copy and paste functions are both convenient and frequently used actions under Windows 10. If they no longer work, frustration quickly arises. However, the clipboard functions can be used in most cases
Another solution could be to temporarily disable the antivirus software. Because sometimes the protection program causes conflicts with the system, which in exceptional cases also affect the execution of copying and pasting. But if you’ve been using the same antivirus tool for a while, it is probably not the cause.
Damaged programs or system files can also prevent copying and pasting in Windows 10. The command prompt chkdsk command can help you resolve this problem. Follow these steps: Enter the word Command Prompt in the search box on the Windows 10 taskbar. Then select “Run as administrator”. At the command prompt, please enter chkdsk x: / f, replacing the x with the letter that stands for your system drive – usually c.
When prompted to schedule a scan, press “Y” to agree. Restart the computer, wait for the scan, and then check below if the problem is gone.
However, it may also be necessary to terminate the “rdpclicp.exe” process and restart it. The RDP clip process controls the copy-paste function between the local computer and the remote desktop.

Scanning for damaged files and then repairing those files often causes the popular and widely used clipboard copy and paste functions to work properly again.
If something is wrong with the process, you cannot copy and paste on the local machine, only on a remote desktop. Restarting the process will help resolve the problem. Next, press Ctrl-Shift-Esc to launch Task Manager.
Switch to the “Details” tab. Find the “rdpclip.exe” process and now right click on it to select “End Task”. To restart the service afterwards, navigate to the “Windows” folder and then to “system32” on your system drive. Search for “rdpclip.exe” and run the file.
Tip:
You can save several texts, images or even passwords to a clipboard with Clipboard Master.
