If you have not yet switched to Windows 11, Microsoft will provide you with updates much less frequently. If your own PC is then also intended for one or the other round of games, this can lead to problems. For this reason, Microsoft has released an optional update for Windows 10 20H2, Windows 10 21H1 and Windows 10 21H2, which includes bug fixes for several games.
Currently only for insiders
The update is currently only intended for test runs, it is only to be delivered in August as part of the regular Patch Tuesday. The pre-release versions named “C-Preview Updates” do not yet contain any security updates. However, those who take part in Microsoft’s Insider program can download the preview update now. The corresponding update can be found under the settings under “Windows Update”.
Do not disturb!
Among the bug fixes in update KB5015878 there are 16 improvements, including the new Focus Assist feature or a bug fix for Windows Autopilot. There are also updates for playing videos and audio content in games. Focus Assist is a Do Not Disturb feature that allows you to hide annoying notifications from apps and Windows itself. If Focus Assist is activated, only important notifications are sent.
DX12 games are said to run better
Other bug fixes include issues with some docking stations losing their internet connection upon waking from sleep mode. In addition, problems with playing videos in games with DirectX 12 have been fixed.
