Microsoft recently released its monthly Windows 11 update for PCs running the Microsoft operating system. However, the update with the version number KB5012643 causes problems for many users. Complaints about the software update have been piling up in the official Microsoft forum for a few days.
Download stuck
Many users cannot install the update. While some get stuck in download and won’t continue, others fail to install after downloading. The Windows Update Troubleshooter, which says it was able to solve the problem, did not bring any improvement for a user whose download is constantly getting stuck.
Update corrupted “Safe Mode”
In addition to the incomplete download and the installation that cannot be started, Windows users also report another problem in the official forum. The update seems to have broken Safe Mode for you. When trying to boot into Safe Mode on PC, some users just get random windows.
A look at the event log shows that many services cannot be started and Windows Explorer seems to be caught in a crash loop. To temporarily solve the problem, some users have uninstalled update KB5012643. It remains to be seen when Microsoft will fix the bug.
