The big fall update Windows 11 version 22H2 (codename: “Sun Valley 2”) will probably appear sometime in September or October 2022, according to a guide to the current RTM (“Release To Manufacturing”), like the IT news site Windowslatest reported . The guide is intended for OEM partners and PC manufacturers.
The current RTM, i.e. the functionally completed version of Windows 11 Version 22H2, has the build number Build 22621. Microsoft is already sending this RTM to the first PC manufacturers. This means that PC manufacturers can already equip their upcoming computers with the latest version of Windows 11. Manufacturers can also use it to adapt their drivers to the new Windows version.
5 September 2022 as the deadline
In this guide, Microsoft encourages its partners to submit their drivers by September 5, 2022. So it seems clear that Windows 11 version 22H2 will be released soon after this deadline; probably in October 2022. That would also correspond to rumors that are already known, according to which Microsoft wants to bring the autumn update in September or October 2022.
Windows 11 build 22621
Microsoft shipped Windows 11 Build 22621 to Windows Insider Testers in the Beta Channel on May 11th. Microsoft has already removed the watermark that indicates that this is a trial version. Microsoft only removes this watermark from a test version when it is about to be finalized. With an RTM, no new functions are added. At most, it is still possible that Microsoft will add bug fixes.
