The update KB5016629 from the Microsoft patch day in August 2022 causes problems for some Windows 11 users.

Microsoft released update KB5016629 on Patch Day in August 2022. Windowslatest is now reporting that this cumulative update can cause problems on Windows 11 computers.
Installation of KB5016629 fails after a long download time
According to this, some users report that the installation of KB5016629 on their computers failed with the following error message: “2022-08 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 for x64-based Systems (KB5016629) – fails to update with error Install error – 0x80073701”. Previously, the update took ages to download, as users complain.
XPS Viewer can become corrupted
Microsoft has not officially confirmed the error described above until now. However, the company confirms another bug that is in KB5016629. For example, the update may break the XPS Viewer, making it impossible to open XPS documents in some languages (except English). According to Microsoft, this only applies to documents with Japanese or Chinese language characters. In addition to the problem that the documents cannot be opened, the CPU and memory usage of the affected computers would increase enormously.
