Without a home button, but with Touch ID: Apple is revolutionizing the iPad Air

Apple

Apple introduces its new products. The group shows the articles via YouTube video and not, as usual, in a large on-site presentation. In the run-up to the event, experts were convinced that there would be no new iPhone flagship to be seen today.

The reason for this are production delays due to the Corona crisis, which Apple had already confirmed. Presumably, Apple boss Tim Cook will therefore only present the new iPhone 12 in a few weeks.

The focus today is on new Apple Watch models and two revised iPad models.

First, Apple reports on the new Apple Watch with the name Series 6. Among other things, the model can determine the oxygen saturation of its owner within 15 seconds. In addition, every Apple Watch will soon no longer have to be paired with an iPhone.

With the new Family Setup feature, parents can use their smartphones to set up their children’s Apple Watch. This feature will also be available in Germany when it is introduced.

With the slimmed-down Apple Watch SE, which is equipped with the processor of its predecessor, Apple also offers an inexpensive model.

There are also innovations in the services: On the one hand, Apple is introducing Fitness +, which is intended to motivate users to exercise and shows appropriate exercises. The service is said to cost $ 9.99 per month in the US.

On the other hand, as already assumed in advance, there is an offer for all available services with Apple One. With the basic subscription, users get access to the TV +, Music and Arcade services, as well as cloud storage space. However, the subscription can also be expanded.

There are also innovations for the iPad. The new iPad Air comes without a home button, but with Touch ID. The technology is built into the power button – for the first time in an Apple product. You can follow all the details about the new tablets and what other innovations the group has presented in the live ticker with our US colleagues.
