World of Warcraft: Dragonflight announced – Beta registration open

Blizzard has announced a new add-on for World of Warcraft: Dragonflight. Beta registration has started.

World of Warcraft turned 17 in February and Blizzard continues to provide the successful online role-playing game with expansions. Now Blizzard has announced “World of Warcraft: Dragonflight”. On this page, WoW players can register for the beta, which will start later, but the developers will not reveal when. In addition, Blizzard has also announced the launch of “World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic” for this year.

The Dragonflight expansion unlocks a new area in the large World of Warcraft called Dragon Islands, increases the level cap to 70, introduces dragon riding, and also introduces a first race/class combo. Here is the German announcement trailer for “World of Warcraft: Dragonflight”, in Blizzard’s usual epic style:

The most important features of “World of Warcraft: Dragonflight” according to the developer:

  • Discover the Dragon Islands:

On their journey to a new level cap of 70, players can explore the primeval wonders and ancient mysteries of the Dragon Isles across four new zones: the Awakening Coast radiating elemental power, the vast plains of Ohn’ahra, the snowy peaks of the Azure Mountains, and the resplendent Towers and Temples of Thaldraszus.

  • New Playable Race/Class Combo:

Players will threaten their enemies (or bolster their allies) as the Invoker of the Dracthyr, the first race/class combo in WoW. Players can create humanoid and dragon forms, choose between Alliance and Horde, and adventure as a healer or ranged damage dealer with the combined power of all dragons.

  • Take to the skies:

Dragonflight introduces Dragon Riding, a brand new skill-based method of airborne travel that allows players to take to the skies on the back of their very own Dragon Isles dragon. Players can gradually customize their kites, collect visual options and train them to fly farther and faster.

  • Talent System Overhaul:

The new talent system gives players the ability to make creative and satisfying talent choices without sacrificing effectiveness. And most importantly, you get meaningful options at every level.

  • Improved Professions:

Craftsmen rejoice! Dragonflight brings a host of new features and tools to those who seek fame through their crafting skills, including player-influenced work orders, new profession gear, and an all-new specialization system.

  • Updated UI:

In Dragonflight, the World of Warcraft interface is renewed. The appearance of the mini-map and other elements will be improved, and new options for customizing various aspects to players’ tastes will be added.

World of the Lich King Classic is scheduled to launch later this year

Blizzard is also planning to launch “Wrath of the Lich King Classic” later this year, the new edition of the World of Warcraft expansion released in 2008. For more information, visit Blizzard here. This is the trailer:
