Sky Ticket becomes WOW. For a short time only, the corresponding WOW subscriptions are available for film and series fans at a significantly lower price. The discount is permanent.
WOW replaces Sky Ticket: Inexpensive starting offers – price reduction applies permanently
Sky Ticket becomes WOW. At the start of the old new streaming offer, the “Series & Films” subscription and the “Series” subscription are permanently significantly cheaper. These reduced-price starter offers are only available until July 31, 2022. All subscriptions can be canceled at any time.
Start offer subscription films and series permanently for 9.98 euros instead of 14.98 euros / month (replaces Sky Ticket Entertainment and Cinema)
Start offer subscription series permanently for 7.99 euros instead of 9.99 euros/month (replaces Sky Ticket Entertainment)
Attention: Do not cancel prematurely
You can cancel the subscriptions on a monthly basis. But there is one thing you should note before you cancel: the reduced prices mentioned above of 7.99 or 9.98 euros only apply as long as you do not cancel the subscription. Sky promises these low prices will last indefinitely as long as you don’t cancel.
Customers can therefore choose between a pure series subscription and a combined subscription of series and films. In the series, Sky advertises, among other things, “Babylon Berlin” and “Das Boot” (not to be confused with the well-known film classic) or with the “Game of Thrones” prequel “House of the Dragon”. The series also includes productions by the US streaming service Peacock. On the other hand, if you opt for the combination of series and films, you can see some blockbuster films shortly after they open in cinemas. Wow is also the only German streaming service that shows all James Bond films including the last Daniel Craig Bond “No time to die”. Outside of Germany, Amazon offers this treat for Bond fans via Prime Video, while Sky has secured the relevant rights in Germany.
Two WOW sports subscriptions
Sports fans also get their money’s worth at WOW. The “Supersport” subscription with the entire range of sports is available for EUR 29.99/month. You can cancel this subscription at any time.
Current savings tip: The Supersport subscription is now available for three months for just EUR 9.99. From the fourth month, the standard price of 29.99 euros will be charged.
In addition, WOW offers an annual subscription to live sports at a special price of EUR 24.99 per month. From the 13th month, however, this live sports subscription costs EUR 29.99 per month. The minimum contract term is 12 months. The subscription can be canceled for the first time at the end of the minimum contract period and then terminated monthly. Alternatively, you can subscribe to live sports for EUR 29.99 per month and then cancel monthly.
Live sports includes all Saturday Bundesliga games as well as all Bundesliga 2 games and all Premier League and DFB Cup games, as well as Formula 1 and Formula 2+3 for racing fans, as well as IndyCar and Porsche Supercup. There are also handball and NHL and other sporting events.
You can find an overview of all WOW offers here. You can see all films and series in maximum Full HD resolution, unlike Netflix, Prime Video or Disney+, for example, 4K is not available.
What else is new?
Sky wants to have improved the user interface for WOW. Users should now be able to search for actors, acronyms or sports clips. There should also be various options for personalization. According to Sky, the “My Account” section has been redesigned to simplify subscription account management and find the relevant information.
You can view all subscriptions on up to two devices at the same time.
What happens to existing Sky Ticket customers?
Sky will automatically move them to WOW. The corresponding apps will be updated automatically. The web player, on the other hand, has to be reinstalled.
