Xbox Game Pass: Microsoft promises that the missing Final Fantasy games are yet to come

In terms of price-performance ratio and features, hardly any gaming subscription service can compete with the Xbox Game Pass. You have to admit that to Microsoft. Microsoft has been pushing the Xbox Game Pass vigorously for years, including a major game offensive for the subscription model in November 2019. Back then, 59 new games were promised in the near future.

Square Enix flew to X019 extra brand manager Shinji “Please be excited” Hashimoto in London, who is likely to announce that many Final Fantasy games will soon be part of the Game Pass. But Microsoft and Square Enix have only partially kept this promise. The following games should actually be playable in the Game Pass by 2020. Only the ones in bold have been published so far.

  • Final Fantasy VII
  • Final Fantasy VIII Remastered
  • Final Fantasy IX
  • Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster
  • Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age
  • Final Fantasy XIII
  • Final Fantasy XIII-2
  • Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII
  • Final Fantasy XV

The website TrueAchievements did not want to leave it that way and has obtained a statement. “As we announced at X019, we’re excited to bring the Final Fantasy franchise to fans with Xbox Game Pass. We started doing it in 2020 and will continue with it in 2021 and beyond. We look forward to announcing more concrete release dates for Final Fantasy games in the future, ”said a spokesman.

There is currently a special 3-month offer again: the first three months of the Xbox Game Pass cost you only 1 euro * – so trying it out is almost free. When you reach for the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate *, all the advantages of Xbox Live Gold * are included. In addition to multiplayer access, this includes Games with Gold and Deals with Gold as well as the Free Play Days.
