The new Definitive Edition for Xenoblade Chronicles for Nintendo Switch offers besides the selling points like the brand new Epilog and of course the revised graphics as well as the newly arranged soundtrack also some quality-of-life improvements. This also includes something that JRPG fans can expect in such a new HD release at the latest: a real theater mode.
Because this is a rather small addition, Nintendo probably doesn’t hang it on the big bell. After all, the official Japanese Twitter account for Xenoblade is taking a look at this week. First, two screenshots of the new title screen were presented there. One for the normal version and one for the “The Connected Future” episode.
In theater mode you can now watch cutscenes again, both from the main game and from the epilogue. In addition to main story scenes, there are also harmony talks with your friends. As a treat, you can even adjust the scenes in theater mode and set outfits, time of day and weather!
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition will be released on May 29, 2020 for Nintendo Switch. You can pre-order the standard version from Amazon *, the Collector’s Edition * is currently out of stock.
