Ichiban Kasuga is now making its way to a new platform, because from today it is Yakuza: Like a Dragon also available for PlayStation 5. We had already tested the new Yakzua for PlayStation 4. For Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Yakuza: Like a Dragon has been available in the limited Day Ichi Edition since November *. Also digitally on Steam. Anyone who owns the PlayStation 4 version can upgrade to the PS5 version for free.
In Yakuza: Like a Dragon, players slip into the role of Ichiban Kasuga (set to music by Kaiji Tang), a yakuza with rough edges who goes on a hunt for the truth. Ichiban was mysteriously betrayed by his clan – he was voluntarily imprisoned for 18 years for an act he did not commit to protect his patriarch and father figure Masumi Arakawa (set to music by George Takei).
On his way he meets some strange characters who join his troupe, for example the ex-cop Adachi (Andrew Morgado), the former midwife Nanba (Greg Chun) and Saeko (Elizabeth Maxwell), a hostess. Together, Ichiban and his troops become unexpected heroes.
We recently had an interview with Daisuke Sato about the past and future of Yakuza.
