YouTubes ‘Dear Class of 2020’ adds impressive names: Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez …

Since no real graduation parties can take place this year, YouTube has found something. On June 6, the video website will set up a major event to replace the actual graduation parties. Speeches will be given by big names and the musical poster is impressive to say the least. Especially after a new batch of names has been added.

Barack and Michelle Obama, Lady Gaga, K-pop sensation BTS and Nobel laureate Malala Yousafza. That, of course, was already a line-up to tell you. But YouTube has now added a new batch of names to the poster for Dear Class of 2020 and those are definitely not the least.

Dear Class of 2020

Few moments in your life are as important as graduation. Certainly in the United States, graduation is celebrated on a large scale. But this year, the annual graduation parties not continue. Due to the corona pandemic, mass events cannot take place, so students who are now graduating will have to do it on their own. Or not? Because YouTube comes with a solution.

With Dear Class of 2020 graduating students (and anyone who wants to attend free performances) will receive a ceremony. And what kind of one. The greatest of the earth come together to support all students during this period.

Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez and Taylor Swift

Let’s start with the biggest name. None other than Beyoncé, Queen B. herself, will be present at the Dear Class of 2020-livestream. She will not only speak there but will also perform at the after party.

Besides Beyoncé are also fellow pop divas Jennifer Lopez and Taylor Swift added to the poster as did a laundry list of other names. These include Lana Condor, Finneas, Bill and Melinda Gates, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, the cast of Euphoria and Riverdale and YouTubers Emma Chamberlain, John Green, NikkieTutorials and Mark Rober. For all to be clear, of course, especially speakers, so Bill and Melinda Gates are not going to give a musical performance. Beyoncé and BTS are currently the only acts that will both speak and sing on Dear Class of 2020.

The musical part of Dear Class of 2020 is the “afterparty”, on which various artists will perform from their own home. In addition to Beyoncé and BTS, Alicia Keys, Demi Lovato, Lizzo, Camila Cabello, CNCO and TikTok phenomena Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion will give the best of themselves. And that’s just a small selection of the total number of names.

The event will kick off at 3pm ET, so 9pm with us, and will last “several hours”. So start catching up on sleep to not miss a single performance.
